A Dieter’s Revelation
Why did Dr. Kohlstadt write this book? Her experience includes working at the Johns Hopkins Weight Management Center as a physician graduate of Johns Hopkins School of Medicine (she is currently a Faculty Associate at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, the largest school of public health in the world, in the Center for Human Nutrition). She personally knows how it felt to be overweight, and the challenges she experienced when attempting to overcome the obstacles.
Ingrid Kohlstadt MD, MPH is uniquely qualified in this endeavor. Dr. Kohlstadt is double Board Certified in Preventive Medicine and in Nutrition. She additionally earned a Masters Degree in Public Health (Epidemiology), with an undergraduate degree in biochemistry. A Fellow of the American College of Nutrition, a Fellow of the American College of Preventive Medicine, she most recently completed a two year appointment to the FDA in the Office of the Commissioner, Office of Pediatric Therapeutics. Dr. Kohlstadt is honored to serve on the Editorial Board of Nutrition Journal, a leading peer-review scientific journal which provides scientists and physicians with responsible and balanced information in order to improve experimental designs and clinical decisions.
Her goal to help transform the health of children and their families nationwide is profoundly shaped by her clinical, public health, research and regulatory work. Dr. Kohlstadt is regarded as one of our nation’s key opinion leaders in nutritional medicine, and is a contributing writer for TIME Magazine’s Health/Ideas online.
